The average gift to date has been around £25,000 for a year's activity. In order to be able to fund a wide range of proposals, LYT has set an upper limit of around £100,000 for support to any new partner charity's work or project in a single year, but does not expect to fund many large projects in any year. The Trust prefers not to get involved in making small contributions to larger projects, and as we are also not likely to fund short term interventions our lower limit for funding is £10,000.
Match funding is not required as a condition of LYT support but we are interested to hear about other potential funders being approached. LYT is happy to consider proposals from other funders for collaborative funding of effective charities. We are also willing to work with other funders to assist the sustainability of projects. The Trust may limit the total funding of any one organisation involved in many projects but each case will be examined on individual merits, as it is our intention to encourage joint working.
