New partner charities may initially be offered funding for a year. That can be for revenue funding, say as a contribution towards the core costs of the charity, or it can be funding for specific packages of work lasting around 12 months (e.g. fund work in May of one year that will run to the following May).
All new charities that are funded for a year must demonstrate that they have an exit strategy in place or be actively seeking other funding for the future, as LYT cannot guarantee that it will be able to commit to any longer term funding after the initial 12 months.
If further support is granted after the initial funding period, this could be for a longer term project that may take place over 2 or 3 years. However, LYT are unlikely to fund an organisation for more than 5 years.
