Overview

It is the Trust's aim to assist in the delivery of improved services for vulnerable children and young people (up to the age of 25) and their families in Scotland.

We are particularly interested in supporting:

  • Work with all age groups of young people which will assist with improved educational outcomes.
  • Work with younger children which helps improve their confidence, ambition and self belief.
  • Mentoring and /or befriending services.
  • Partnership working which improves service delivery (e.g. collaboration between 2 or more organisations at least one of which should be a registered charity).
  • Capacity building of smaller charities (including those we have already funded and we know).

LYT will fund the costs of delivering projects but will also fund revenue and core costs if that means supporting delivery of good work. Projects or services do not have to be innovative or new.

The Trust is interested in funding what works so that can include tried and tested approaches provided there is evidence of success. And while innovation is not required, LYP is also happy to support new services.
